Morris County Park Commission is seeking a full-time Director of Park Planning & Development with responsibility to direct, organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive engineering, construction, park development, infrastructure maintenance and linear trail program. This position develops plans for short- and long-range activities and the daily management functions of staff and outside contractors and consultants, consistent with forecasts, budgets, ongoing multi-year preventative cost-effective maintenance programs and capital and park improvement trust plans.

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree required, in park planning, landscape architecture, architecture, civil engineering, or related subject, from an accredited college or university with experience in the parks and recreation field and possession of valid license(s) and/or certified as a Professional Civil Engineer, Architect, Landscape Architect in the State of New Jersey.

Six to ten years of progressive experience strongly preferred, which includes working with public contracts. Comprehensive benefits package that provides enrollment in NJ State Pension System and offers medical, dental, discount vision plan, 457(b) plan, sick, vacation and paid holidays.
