The San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department is seeking a visionary, people-centered executive leader to serve as its next General Manager, a once-in-a-career opportunity to lead one of the nation's largest, most diverse, and most beloved urban park and recreation systems.

Appointed by the Mayor and working in partnership with the Recreation and Parks Commission, the General Manager provides strategic vision, operational oversight, and inspirational leadership for a complex, mission-driven department. This role oversees diverse programs and services–from recreation and youth programming to natural resource stewardship and major capital projects–while managing large-scale budgets, strengthening community engagement, and fostering a high-performing, inclusive workforce
